As I explain in the manual, all the breathing techniques and medications in the world will not help you get to the root cause of why you feel fear in social situations. So in the beginning, I did what everyone thinks they should do. I went to a psychiatrist then a therapist. I read a book and I even started medication. I soon learned, that Doctors, Psychiatrists and Therapists are very well educated , honest people but they couldn't help me because they didn't suffer from social anxieties and couldn't understand what is was really like "inside my head". Additionally, these professionals presented so many techniques to "try" that it was difficult to figure out what methods were best. That is when I made my decision to research all of the scientific data and studies I could find on social anxiety and fear. My hypothesis was that certain methods had to work better than others. I didn't study theories and theoretical techniques. I studied only actual clinical studies and statistics to compile the Prisoners of Our Thoughts Manual.
