Some of the reasons being: No costs for film. (With digital cameras, you take as many pictures as you want.they don't cost a thing!) No processing costs. No more making 2 trips to the developers. You can "fix" your pictures on your computer with software. You only print the pictures that you want. You can practice as much as you want - you can store as many pictures as you'd like now that there's cheap storage options. And most importantly: you actually don't need to know a bunch of technical stuff. That's the big secret about professional digital photography.
